Questions about glasses:

How do I know what strength to use?

Age-related vision is (as the name tends to suggest) something to do with age, and most people follow the table that you can see here. If you are uncertain, you can always have your eyes tested by an optician. Some opticians perform eye tests free, others charge.

What frames suit my face best?

See our spectacle guide here.

Where can I try Have A Look glasses?

We haven’t got a showroom, but you can try a selection of our glasses at our dealers – you will find them here. You will only find the complete collection in our web shop, however, – and if you have purchased a frame that still does not suit you, you can of course exchange them without any problems.

Should I use a +strength or a -strength?

If you find things difficult to see clearly close up – e.g. it is difficult to read a newspaper, you should use + strength (so-called reading) glasses. If you find it difficult to see clearly at a distance (e.g. it is difficult to recognise people on the other side of the street or read signs when you are driving a car), you should use – strength (so-called distance) glasses. If you uncertain about what exactly you need, you should always go to an optician or ophthalmologist and get an eye test.

Can I put my own lenses in your frames?

No, that isn’t something that we recommend. Our glasses are not intended for replacement of the lenses, so we can’t guarantee the result. But you can always ask your optician about what they think.

Can I get glasses with different strengths in each lens?

Unfortunately not. We only have ready-to-wear glasses in strengths -1.5 to +3 with the same strength in both lenses.

How do I look after my glasses?

Your Have A Look glasses are quite hard-wearing ... and they come in a neat case, but you will, of course, need to clean them sometimes. Use a polishing cloth and wash them occasionally with a mild soap or detergent.

Where are the Have A Look glass manufactured?

All of our Have A Look glasses are designed here in Denmark and manufactured in Taiwan.

What are flexible arms?

Flexible arms are spring-loaded to help the frame fit your face, making the glasses very comfortable to wear. The flexible arms also mean that the frame does not break easily ... and the glasses fit very well in a hair style, precisely because of the springs.

What are bifocal sunglasses?

Bifocal sunglasses are glasses that only have a prescription lens in a small area at the bottom of the lens, while the rest of the lens has plain glass and acts as a normal pair of sunglasses. The lenses offer UV protection, of course. Bifocal sunglasses are practical, because they act both as normal sunglasses and as outdoor reading glasses.
